Oxford Debate and Research Paper
For this combined research paper and debate, each class chose from a list of topics what they would research and debate about. Then each student was assigned a side and debate role (debater/audience member). Time was given in class for both research and debate preparation. Two grades were taken- one for the paper and one for the debate. On the day of the debate, students turned in either their debate outline (debaters) or list of questions (audience members).
